Delhi University Undergraduate Classes 2024: Delhi University VC Yogesh Singh has clarified that this time the classes of undergraduate courses may take some time to start but admissions will be done on the basis of CUET score. He estimates that the classes of the new semester may probably start from 16 August 2024. Actually, due to the delay in the results of CUET UG, the classes will also start late. After the results, the admission process will be completed and after that the number of the class will come.

According to media reports, there was a demand in DU that the delay in the results of CUET UG is affecting the entire process and everything from late admission to late classes will start late. In such a situation, DU should again start taking admissions by adopting its old method. Let us tell you that earlier DU used to give admission on the basis of merit or conduct its own entrance exam and on that basis candidates used to get admission in UG courses.
The demand has already been raised
Although this process was for some courses, in most cases merit was made on the basis of class 12th marks and admissions were done accordingly. By taking admission in this way, the responsibility of the entire process was in the hands of DU and they used to complete this process on time as per their convenience. But since CUET UG has come, almost every year the admission process gets delayed due to some reason or the other and every time the demand arises that DU should stop taking admissions through CUET.
DU VC clarified the matter
DU VC made it clear that admissions will be done on the basis of CUET UG and they do not intend to opt-out of this exam. Many professors had demanded in the Academic Council meeting of the university that DU should abandon the CUET UG system. In response to this, DU VC said that even if the university had conducted the exam, similar challenges would have been faced.
It is getting delayed
DU VC also says that there is no doubt that admissions are getting delayed but we will take admissions through this process. There is a possibility that the new semester will start around 16 August. At the same time, some officials also say that the process has been delayed and if CUET is held again (for some students) then the problem will increase further.
